Tesla CEO and founder Elon Musk has been declared the highest-paid executive in the world for 2020, according to Bloomberg Pay Index.
The billionaire’s compensation package was far above that of any other Chief Executive Officer in America in 2020.
The media company claims that Musk was paid $6.7 billion in option awards. This represents a significant increase from the $595.27 million the billionaire received in the previous year.
This is the third year in a row that the controversial engineer will earn the most money as a CEO in America.
The last time that somebody else topped the list was in 2017 when Snap, Inc founder, Evan Spiegel received the highest compensation.
In that year, Spiegel received $504.46 million while Musk came fourth.

However, the list is not completed by familiar names of the richest billionaires in the world as you would expect.
The top three is completed by Oak Street Health CEO Mike Pykosz who earned $568.44 million in 2020 and GoodRx Holdings co-CEOs Trevor Bezdek and Douglas Hirsch on $497.84 billion each.
