WhatsApp Will Restrict Your Account From Today if You Don’t Accept Policy Update

  • WhatsApp is set to pressure users into accepting their latest privacy update

  • The controversial update will allow small businesses to upload catalogs so users can buy without leaving the app

  • Although the social media company doesn’t plan to ban anyone, access to certain features will be restricted if users don’t accept the policy update

Starting from Saturday, Facebook-owned WhatsApp will begin forcing users to accept the new privacy policy.

The social media company announced plans for the update in January but many users kicked against it.

The company has revealed that the intended changes are not many but panic was driven by misinformation earlier this year.

According to Analysts, Facebook plans to turn the chatting application into something similar to WeChat.

Users will be allowed to make purchases and contact a company directly, without having to leave the app.

Major concerns about the policy update are that Facebook will have access to WhatsApp data and information might be misused.

From Saturday, users will be unable to dismiss a screen asking them to accept the update.

They will however be allowed to receive calls and reply messages through the notifications bar.

As time goes by, users will lose access to all the app’s features if the policy update is not accepted.
