Twitter is reiterating it’s push towards digital currency as the company has announced the launch of a dedicated cryptocurrency team.

The social network has disclosed that it has hired Tess Rinearson to lead the new team of cryptocurrency experts, according to Financial Times.

The company stated that it is exploring ways to integrate decentralized technologies into its products.

The company added that in the short term, it is working towards integrating cryptocurrency as payment, especially for content creators.

The CEO of the company, Jack Dorsey is known Bitcoin enthusiast and he has disclosed severally that he wants cryptocurrency to be a part of the company’s future.

In September, the social media company introduced a tool that will allow users to send tips to content creators via Bitcoin. In addition to that, it was disclosed that it was creating a feature to verify non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Twitter is not the only company showing interest in cryptocurrency, Reddit and Discord have also hinted that they are set to embrace the digital assets.
