Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the development via a post on his social media page.

The first smart glasses were targeted at capturing memories in the form of photos and videos using the five-megapixel camera installed in the front.

This meant that the glasses could be used as used for stalking or recording others without their permission.

Due to this, alarms have been raised highlighting the potential for the wearable to be used for intrusion of privacy.

They however come with hardware buttons for turning the camera on and off but that is entirely in the hands of the owner.

In addition to the new message sending feature, the Facebook Ray Ban glasses added a new feature- music playback control via voice.

This music control will allow users to pause or resume playback, and control the volume level of the music, as well.
