The suspension which is expected to last for two years started on January 7, 2021.

According to a statement released by Facebook’s Vice President of Global Affairs, Nick Clegg, Trump was accused of inciting violence via his social media page during the Capitol Hill riots of January 6.

This goes against the rules of his social media company and the former president has since lost access to his account.

According to Clegg’s statement, the ban will be reconsidered in 2023 to determine if the risk to public safety has reduced.
