This development is coming after the app authorities recently deleted series of tweets from the President’s account that we’re termed “abusive”.

The president made a post on Wednesday threatening to punish a section for attacking government buildings.

He also tweeted other things about the 1967-70 Biafra war that violated the platform’s rules and his account was issued a 12-hour ban.

The Minister of Culture and Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed announced the ban on Friday during a statement released in Abuja.

The government argued that the platform is being used to carry out activities that limit the corporate existence of Nigeria.
