Following the passing of his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 2016, Maha Vajiralongkorn assumed the throne.

After King Maha’s coronation, he received the entire portfolio of the Crown Property Bureau worth $40 billion, making him the richest monarch in the world.
Major Assets
The bulk of King Maha’s wealth comes from $33.6 billion stakes in Siam Cement Group, the largest industrial conglomerate in Thailand.

He also 23% stake in Siam Commercial Banks, which is among the largest banks in Thailand.

How he spends his money
Even though he is the king of Thailand, King Maha spends the majority of his time in Germany.
The monarch has over 38 aircraft, including planes and helicopters, which he flies by himself when traveling overseas.

The King is also a bicycle lover and he has led his entourage on mass cycling events several times.
