The state of insecurity and COVID-19 in the country has led many state governors to take drastic steps, including imposing a curfew.

States with curfew in Nigeria

This article contains the states with curfew in Nigeria and their restricted hours.

Abia (10 am to 6 pm)

On the 5th of April 2020, Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu declared a curfew from 10 pm to 6 am in Umuahia and Aba.

The curfew was imposed on the back of reports of multiple attacks in the state.

Anambra (7 pm to 6 am)

Anambra is another southeastern state that has suffered attacks from gunmen.

Since April 26, 2021, Governor Willie Obiano has imposed a 7 pm to 6 am curfew in Igbariam, Aguleri, Umueri, Nteje, and Awkuzu communities.

Bayelsa (8 pm to 6 am)

Bayelsa State is the most Nigerian state to impose a curfew. In this instance, the curfew is aimed at restricting the spread of new variants of COVID-19.

The curfew takes effect from Sunday 16th May 2021 and it runs from 8 pm to 6 am daily.

Ebonyi State (8 pm to 6 am)

Since April April 28, 2021, Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi has imposed a partial curfew from 8 pm to 6 am.

The curfew is restricted to the border areas to prevent armed men from entering the city.

Imo (6 pm to 6 am)

Hope Uzodinma imposed a curfew on the Orlu community in Imo state after unknown gunmen attacked and killed some Nigerian soldiers.

Despite the 6 pm to 6 am curfew, they have been continuous attacks in various areas of the state.

Rivers State (10 pm to 6 am)

Rivers State has faced its own fair share of attacks from unknown gunmen recently.

To prevent attacks in the state, Governor Wike imposed a curfew from 10 pm to 6 am every day.

Apart from the above states with curfew, the Federal Government has imposed a nationwide curfew from 12 am to 4 am daily.
