American rapper and actor DMX has passed away at the age of 50, five days after suffering a heart attack.

DMX, real name Earl Simmons had been placed on life support since the incident and had his family at his side.

In a statement released by the rapper’s family, it is claimed that he was a warrior and he did not stop fighting.

Earlier this morning, we reported that DMX was on life support.

DMX was a top Hip-Hop performer during his best years and he collaborated with artists like Ja Ruel and Jay Z.

As an actor, DMX also featured in movies such as “Cradle 2 the Grave”, “Exit wounds” and “Romeo must die”.

DMX battled substance abuse for years after being exposed to Cocaine crack at just the age of 14.

He was a father of 15 and he served jail time for drug and weapon possession.
