Terrorists Bomb Abuja-Kaduna Train as 970 Passengers are Attacked

  • Some Terrorist bombed the Abuja-Kaduna rail track on Monday, as a train headed for Kaduna was attacked
  • Multiple reports claim that the Abuja-Kaduna train was shot at several times and some of the passengers on board got injured
  • A passenger onboard the train, Adamu Hayuta later revealed on Twitter that the train had been rescued by the military

A passenger train that was conveying over 970 passengers from Abuja to Kaduna was attacked by terrorists between Rijana and Katari in Kaduna State, yesterday.

It was gathered that the bandits tried to force themselves into the train after blowing up the rail track, but did not succeed.

It all started when a passenger onboard the train, Anas Iro Dan Musa sent out a post on Facebook, stating that all the passengers were forced to lie on the floor as the terrorists shot sporadically at the train.

Dan Musa revealed that explosives were planted on the train track and the engines of the train had been ruined. The attack which started around 8 pm, according to Musa, went on until another passenger confirmed that the train had been rescued by the military. Adamu Hayatu posted a tweet saying

“Alhamdulillah!! The military has secured the train. Thank you #DSS, thank you #KadunaCP…. and all classified persons who answered our calls without hesitation and actually acted upon it.

The managing director of Nigerian Railways Corporation, NRC, FIdet Okhiria confirmed the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train on Tuesday morning and disclosed that the passengers had gone into hiding.
