#ENDSARS: Protest in Lagos, Abuja, Oshogbo, Police shot 1 as Davido Joins in

The street protest to put an immediate and indefinite end to police brutality is making waves across major cities in Nigeria.

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigerian Police who have been notorious for extorting and brutalizing Nigerians on usually unsubstantial charges came under the light of public rage throughout the week.

The protest in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory kicked-off from Berger down to Banex Plaza and they headed towards Unity Fountain, Abuja. The group where later joined by former presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore and his RevolutionNow team.

In Oshogbo, the protest was being led by mostly student of Ladoke Akintola University operatives. It was reported that one of the protesters, a young man was hit by a bullet froma shot from the Police and it was captured in a widely circulated video.

Music star David Adeleke has also promised to join the protest in Abuja tomorrow. in a tweet he made early today, Davido in a short tweet asked Nigerians to join him in Abuja for the campaign against Police brutality

In the wake of the campaign against police brutality being perpetrated by SARS operatives, social media influencers as well as entertainment celebrities hav used their large followings and popularity to heighten the call to put an end to SARS.

On Thursday 8 of October, 2020 music starts like Runtown, Falz and Tiwas Savage joined a large group of protesters  who marched from Ikeja Under Bridge to the Lagos State Assembly to deliver a protest letter to the Speaker of the House.

We reported earlier that IGP had banned SARS operatives and other tactical force from rountine stop and search. Naija.FM also published a report of how Wizkid and Buhari’s aide engaged themselves on Twitter over the #ENDSARS. In the same vain, former president Abubakar Atiku also responed to the call to ENDSARS
