NCC Denies Allegation of Mass Disconnection Of Telephone Lines

A statement from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has denied the mass disconnection of telecom subscribers.

Dr Ikechukwu, representing the commission made the clarification yesterday, Wednesday January 6.

The federal government through the commission had given a January 31 deadline for all NIN and SIM synchronization

 

The Nigerian Communication Commission NCC has denied the widely publicised blocking of telephone subscribers line due to non-linkage with the National Identity Number (NIN)

In a statement issued by the NCC Director of Public Affairs Dr Ikechukwu, the alleged blocking of subscribers line was false.

Ikechukwu disclosed that it was necessary to clarified the fears of the general public, stressing that linkage of SIM cards with the NIN is for the common good if the nation. 

He further states that every Nigerian can link up to seven SIM card to  NIN as available data shows at a single individual has a least five SIM cards.
