The Nigerian Navy has released online comedian Abdulgafar Ahmad, popularly known as Cute Abiola after weeks in detention.

His release was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Navy, Commodore Suleman Dahun on Friday.

There was controversy surrounding the Navy after the skit maker was declared missing by colleague Debo Adedayo aka Mr. Macaroni on November 15, 2021.

Mr. Macaroni disclosed that his colleague couldn’t be reached after reporting to his office in Navy town.

The rumors about him being missing were displayed by the Navy two days later as a spokesperson revealed that he was in their custody.

The comedian was alleged to have contravened military laws by posting a video of himself in military uniform on social media.

Cute Abiola also reportedly failed to show up when he was called upon by the Nigerian Navy but later turned up after the expiration of his leave on November 15, 2021.

The comedian was put behind bars the same day and had been in their custody until his release today.
