Elon Musk to Warren Buffet: 5 Billionaires and the Cryptocurrencies They Own

It’s the end of 2021 and the interest in cryptocurrencies and digital assets just keep rising.

If you don’t hold cryptocurrencies, odds are you know someone that does, that’s how far this digital token innovation has gone.

The cryptocurrency market has gotten a boost from some of the world’s richest people such as Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey, this year.

In this article, we will discuss the coins held by these billionaires and some of their counterparts

Elon Musk

Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon is the richest person in the world and a known supporter of meme coin Dogecoin. Despite Musk being behind the entire crypto market, he has only invested his money in 3 out of thousands of available coins.

In October, the Tesla boss disclosed that the only crypto assets in his possession are Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin.

The billionaire has so discussed that while he is a firm believer in crypto, no one should bet all their money on these assets.

Mark Zuckerberg

The closest that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has come to disclosing his cryptocurrency portfolio was when he posted a photo of his pet goat called “Bitcoin”.

Although he stated that the technology behind Bitcoin could improve Facebook in the future, he didn’t state if he was willing to bet his personal funds on it.

Tim Cook was the most recent billionaire to confirm that he had invested in cryptocurrencies.

While speaking to Andrew Ross Sorkin at the New York Times, Cook stated that he owns it as part of a diversified portfolio. He however dispelled rumors about Apple making a bet on crypto.

Jack Dorsey

Former Twitter CEO and Square founder Jack Dorsey is a known Bitcoin maximalist.

Maximalists are those that believe that Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that will be needed in the future. For them, it’s BTC or nothing else.

While speaking at The B Word conference in July, he was asked- “If the internet gets a chance to get a native currency, what will that be?” Dorsey answered Bitcoin.

Warren Buffet

Unlike most others on this list, Jeff Bezos doesn’t own any cryptocurrencies and is even known to be a critic.

In 2020, Buffet told CNBC that he doesn’t own any cryptocurrency and “probably never will”.

The 91-year-old has also called Bitcoin a mirage and “rat poison squared”.
