MI Abaga, Son of A Pastor Defends Islam Publicly
I know so many people will ask whether it is logical that MI Abaga, son of a pastor defends Islam publicly? Well, he had a chat with his twitter followers, clearly stating that it is wrong for anyone to judge all Muslims because some of them are violent. Now, entertainment journalist, Rasheed Abubakar is pointing out that MI Abaga may be the first Nigerian entertainer to publicly defend Islam.
MI stated that there are criminals and crazy people in every religion which I very much agree with. The fact that some Muslims are behind boko haram and other terrorist attacks doesn’t make all Muslims evil.
According to Rashed, “what many top rated Nigerian celebrities are afraid of professing openly out of fear of hurting their careers,MI Abaga has just done it, making him the first to break such record.”
Well, it is sad that the one thing (religion) that should bind us together is the one thing that tears us apart. No one has the right to say all Muslims are evil. That is false. The fact that a Christian boy steals does not make all Christian thieves. There are several evil things that many people who call themselves Christians do but that doesn’t make all Christians evil.
Just to add, any form of generalization is bad. This is one thing that affects us individually and collectively as a people. A guy broke your heart, you conclude all guys are bad. An Igbo man cheats you, you say, all Igbos are Cheats. Or when some men say all women are whores and all that shitty stuff. *sad*
If we must progress as a people, we need to reinvent our minds. stop this myopic ways of thinking and take everyone for who they really are. Between, I have cool and lovely Muslim friends.
