Something that you’d only see in movies happened in Lagos yesterday.

The governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his convoy arrested a gang of suspected armed thieves.

Sanwo Olu arrests armed robbers

The robbers who had become notorious for harassing motorists didn’t expect to be caught in the act by the governor.

The traffic robbers were attempting to attack motorists around Ojota and had almost succeeded in bringing one out of his car when the governor arrived.

The security personnel with the governor moved in on the suspects, disarmed them, and arrested them.

After the arrest, the governor sent out a warning that they will be no hiding place for traffic robbers in Lagos.

A few moments after the pictures of the arrest surfaced online, Nigerians have reacted to the incident.

Many people have slammed the Lagos state governor, terming the scene a publicity stunt by Governor Sanwo Olu.

A certain Otunba on Twitter claimed that he could not stop laughing at the incident.

Another user Pablo Martini claimed that the governor could as well go and capture bandits in the north and Nigerians will not believe it.
