There is an ongoing verbal war among popular Nigerian musicians, Davido, Wizkid, and their fans. Davido and Wizkid, who were in May listed on Forbes Africa ten richest musicians, seem to be locked in a supremacy battle. Wizkid unfollows Davido as they fight messy on Twitter.
We all know Davido failed at breaking into the international market and relocated home in January, while Wizzy continues to dominate international airwaves. From all indications, Davido just might be regretting his decision to shade Wizkid, because the Starboy’s clap back is loaded with epic and hilarious shots.
The drama started after Davido shared a post on Snapchat on Saturday, 17 June, 2017, after the release of Wizkid’s single, “Sounds from the other side”.

Davido kinda called out Wizkid in his post. Here’s what he wrote: “Na ‘pon pon’ sound dey reign now ooo!!! No dey jonze!! All other sounds nah d least for now LMAO.”

But in his reaction, the ‘Come Closer’ crooner threw deft shots at unnamed persons, and avid fans are saying his latest words are definitely a Davido diss. Here’s what Wizkid tweeted obvoiusly at the ‘IF’ crooner. In a series of tweets via his Twitter handle @wizkidayo, he tweeted: “U can’t hate on someone doing better than u in what u failed at! Learn and appreciate! Free ur mind from hate young kids. And remember kids! Drink more water!! The game is only for the real! Catch up or stay local! Don’t blame anybody for ur failures! Pray and work hard kids!”
While the heat was on, the comments by the duo ignited mixed reactions, conversation and arguments on the social media, with fans making comparisons of songs, awards, scandals, among others. Many fans didn’t take kindly to Davido’s obvious shade, and they dragged him to the mud, just as they did his brother Adewale Adeleke, when he came for Wizkid on his SnapChat.

Meanwhile, Wizzy already unfollowed Davido.
We all know that the friendship between the two has been fragile at best, held together by a thin thread. This little exchange may be the needle that breaks the camel’s back.
