Singer, Mr Eazi has revealed how he turned down numerous record deals since his business relationship started with Wizkid. The singer said his reason is not far-fetched as he sees growth with StarBoy Worldwide. According to the singer in a recent radio interview in Ghana, the deals he turned down mean nothing to him as he is sure of his hustle with Wizkid which he says will definitely pay. Why I rejected million dollar deals for Wizkid’s sake – Mr Eazi opens up.
He said, “Between the first Ghana Music Awards where Wizkid announced me till now, I’ve gotten record deal offers going into millions of dollars. I’ve not signed because I see that there’s growth [with Starboy Worldwide], so the evidences are clear. No artiste is doing what Wizkid is achieving at the moment.

“What Wizkid is doing right now, there’s nobody in the game doing what he’s doing. If you go into the UK and put on the radio, the only two artistes you’ll most likely hear on radio are myself and Wizkid. Also, if you put on the TV, you would see myself and Wizkid on it. And the next R2Bees project, you will see it there.
“At the end of the day, it’s like, ‘I’ve done everything, I’ve given you guys hits on hits”, Mr Eazi noted.
Speaking further, Mr Eazi declared himself the second bestselling artiste in West Africa and the only person ahead of him is label mate, Wizkid. According to him, he’s held that place in the past year on a number of the major global music streaming platforms.

His words: “I don’t mean to brag but in the past one year in West Africa, I’ve been the second bestselling artiste on Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, Tidal … the second best next to Wizkid.”
He also clarified that he’s in business with Starboy Worldwide, not signed into some ‘360 deal’ as many have made it to appear, saying: “I’m unsigned. I never even signed myself. We’ve all been in business,’ Mr Eazi said of being part of the label alongside Wizkid, Efya and R2Bees.
“It’s just the mentality of people. When you hear Drake signed The Weekend, it doesn’t mean Drake brought some 360 deal, there are different ways of signing an artiste. What it is is that we’re in business together, everybody is in business together and I feel like I’m getting the most because now, when I walk into a meeting and I say ‘Starboy Worldwide’ they are like ‘oh, Wizkid, Efya,” he clarified.
