Peter Okoye of the sensational P-Square fame has lamented the state of the industry today where most up and coming artistes are only into it for the monetary gain and not because they have the passion. He recalled that back when they started, there was no money in the industry and the passion was the driving force behind their music. Peter Okoye reveals what upcoming musicians must do to ‘blow’.
He revealed this in a chat with Hiptv, saying: “Most of them don’t see the passion in it anymore, they just want to go out there because they’ve seen the likes of us making it big, living in good houses, buying big cars or whatever. Guys, it’s beyond that, music is passion.

Peter however urged the upcoming artistes to pursue their passion instead of their music if they want to make it to the top as well as stay there.

He said, “Some of them write me, send me their CDs with the mindset of ‘I just want to blow’. Guys, if you blow, you blow and you are done. Trust me, it is all about being real to yourself, telling yourself the truth. What am I here for? Am I here to impress people, make money and go or am I here based on the passion? Because first of all when we all started up, there was no money in the industry, so we were doing it for the passion.
