MI is of the opinion that the lawmakers are being biased, as he compares homosexuality to adultery and cheating which are not being criminalised. MI says it’s stupid we have gay laws in Nigeria.
He made this known in a recent podcast with ‘Middle Ground’. He was speaking about where he stands on the “Jail The Gays” law. The Jos-born rap superstar frowned against passing anti-gay laws in Nigeria. According to the hip hop recording artist, he feels it is not safe to openly disclose your sexuality in Nigeria until the law is repealed.

Here’s what he said: “I feel like I have a few friends with different sexual orientations and I think its stupid that we have that law in Nigeria but now that we do, until the law is repealed, I feel it’s not safe to openly disclose your sexuality.”
But one of his Twitter followers disagreed with his views. The user tweeted: “My thinking.. I was born straight.. I wd never want 2b punished 4 who I am.. because of this.. I wouldn’t punish som1 else for who they are.”
MI defends his opinion in reply to the Twitter follower who faulted him by stating that adultery and cheating are wrong but they are not criminalized. But in his response, MI, on his Twitter handle @MI_Abaga said: “Cheating and adultery are wrong but they are not criminalized and no form of consensual adult expression of love should be…my opinion.”

He also made reference to the case where a lady was sexually assaulted by a Taxi driver after she joking claimed she was a lesbian in order to rebuff the advances of the driver. Abaga feels with this law now in place, the homosexuals should not openly come out with their sexual orientation.
He tweeted: “I’m not arguing that there should be.. I have and am only attracted to women.. I am also a Christian that aspires to God’s teaching on sex. My point is that there should be an allowance for choice in the law.. I’m not advocating changing beliefs.. I am advocating changing law.
