Nigerian hip hop singer, born Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, better known by his stage name, Eedris Abdulkareem, says the high rate of regular and meaningless songs populating the Nigerian Music Industry is alarming. Eedris Abdulkareem slams Nigerian musicians.
The ace singer bragged about his hit track ‘Jaga Jaga’, saying it is a song that will remain evergreen in the hearts and minds of Nigerians, unlike the kind of songs new age musicians put out these days which could only manage to lasts for about three months.

Recall that Eedris made his way into limelight in the music scene in 1996. He is proudly behind hit songs such as ‘Jaga Jaga’, ‘Mr. Lecturer’ and ‘Letter to Mr. President’ among many others.
But in a recent interview with LIB, the controversial musician, “Music needs to have meaning and should be able to add value to the lives of people, not just about dance and shake booty.
“Any song that is strictly about dance and shake booty, the life span is about three to four months. This is why we should be able to have classic songs.
“I dropped ‘Jaga Jaga’ 15 years ago and it’s still there, it’s evergreen.”

The hip hop artist is the founder of the Eedris Abdulkareem Foundation, a fundraising organization dedicated to fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa in conjunction with the Pat Utomi Foundation. Eedris has been releasing numerous singles in preparation for his yet untitled album, among which are “Wonkere” featuring Fatai Rolling Dollar, “Shekere” featuring Vector tha Viper, and “FELA” featuring Femi Kuti.
He also released a sequel to his 2004 hit “Jaga Jaga” in January 2012 during the Occupy Nigeria protest.
