Popular Nigerian singer and performer, Dammy Krane, has apologized to his family, fans and friends over his recent arrest and detention. The singer, born Johnson- Hunga Oyindamola Emmanuel but popularly known by his stage name, was arrested last Friday in the US for grand theft, credit card fraud and Identity fraud but was released on bail yesterday. In the video clip, the singer denies that he was involved in fraud. He blames the mix-up on the agent that used fraudulent credit cards to book his flight.

Krane said, “First of all I want to thank God and I want to use this medium to apologise to my family, my team and my fans. You know I was arrested by the Miami PD for fraud. I do not do fraud and I do not partake in such activities it’s just happens to be that the agent just booked my flight with fraudulent cards. My life is all about my music and that is all I’m about.”
He, however apologised to his fans and thanked his parents for their undying love, saying: “I am sorry I got caught up in this mess, I assure all my fans it will never happen again. Also, I want to thank everyone who stood by me in this period. May God continue to bless you and protect you all. Amin.
“And to my parents, I want to thank you for your undying love. Please keep supporting me. I have more music on the way and I promise I will make you proud. Thank you very much. Hold strong, I love you very much. Dammy Krane.”

When the news of his arrest emerged online, he had responded on his Twitter handle, ENTERKRANER. He tweeted: “In weird situations like this, you go start to see, who is with you and who isn’t. No fake love. See ehn… Understanding is a three-edged sword. Your side, my side, and the truth. Make dem talk. This one, that one, rumor…One time for my fans, new material coming, i go talk everything. God got us, help me say amin o,” Dammy told his 215,000 followers.

Following the arrest, his mother, Elizabeth Adeola Oshodi, issued an official statement through her Facebook account. She claimed that Dammy Krane’s flight ticket and hotel bookings were fraudulently purchased by a show promoter before he got arrested while trying to board a flight from Maimi to Washington. Also, she warned all artistes to purchase their ticket by themselves to avoid a similar incident. HERE is what she said in full.
