Sandbox to Boost Metaverse Startups With $50 Million

  • Metaverse giant Sandbox is set to launch a $50 million incubator program for startups
  • The program which is being done in partnership with Brinc will invest $250,000 in 30 to 40 metaverse startups every year
  • The program will run for 3 years and winners will also be awarded $150,000 in SAND and LAND token grants

Metaverse company Sandbox is set to launch a $50 million investment program in partnership with Brinc.

The company announced the program on Wednesday while revealing that it will invest up to $250,000 in 30-40 startups each year over three years.

Top performers in the program will also be eligible to receive up to $150,000 in SAND and LAND token grants.

The program’s first beneficiaries will be announced in Q2 of 2022 and applications are already open as it runs for 3 months.

The incubator program comes at a time when there is growing interest in the metaverse and while the industry remains in its early stages.

Sebastien Borget, co-founder of The Sandbox confirmed that the program aims to support the next generation of metaverse entrepreneurs.

“The Sandbox’s metaverse accelerator is a major expansion of our ongoing commitment to support the next generation of metaverse entrepreneurs…With imagination, ideas, and hard work, startups from all over the world can realize their visions and drive societal impact by creating more opportunities for everyone.”

According to the company’s website, the Sandbox is a virtual Metaverse where players can play, build, own, and monetize their virtual experiences.
