The Twitter post triggered a rally in the value of the meme cryptocurrency as SHIB rebounded along with other altcoins that crashed over the weekend. This marks the first time that the meme coin will be up in the past 3 days, although it remained around its lowest region in the last 3 months.
The team had previously revealed their plans for the metaverse via a blog post released by developer Shytoshi Kusama in November last year. Kusama disclosed that he aims for the metaverse to provide real value to users.

Shiba Inu joins the growing metaverse universe which gained huge popularity after Facebook disclosed that it was set to channel its resources into metaverse projects. In 2021, Grayscale disclosed that the metaverse had the potential to grow into a $1 trillion market opportunity. Goldman Sachs analyst Eric Sheridan also predicted that the virtual world could exceed a value above $8 trillion.
