Metaverse Wedding : Indian Couple to Tie the Knot Virtually

In the first of its kind in India, a couple has disclosed plans to host their wedding in the Metaverse using virtual reality.

Dinesh SP who happens to be an IIT Madras project associate is set to tie the knot with Janaganandhini Ramaswamy on the 6th of February in a village in Krishnagiri.

Although the wedding is going to be in person, the couple plan to also host a Hogwarts-themed reception digitally.

The Metaverse wedding aims to allow friends and families from across the world, to attend without having to travel to India.

The attendees will be able to attend by logging into a link that will welcome them to the virtual venue and they will appear as Hogwart avatars.

In addition to the avatars of the attendants, the groom Dinesh decided to make one dedicated to Janaganandhini’s late father.

He plans to surprise her by having the avatar show up at the wedding to bless their marriage.

The bride and groom will be dressed in their traditional outfits and guests will be able to interact with one another at the virtual venue.

Dinesh also plans to use the promotion of the metaverse wedding to preach the use in of metaverse in his country.

A glimpse of the virtual marriage can be seen in a video that was shared by the groom on Twitter.
