Even though he is the world’s richest man, Elon Musk indulges in menial activities on social media such as trolling.
The billionaire who has been known to troll rival businessmen and politicians is back in the act again and his latest victim is a US Senator.
The Tesla CEO made a mockery of Senator Bernie Sanders, following a tweet where the politician demanded that billionaires pay taxes.
Sen. Bernie Sanders made a tweet on Sunday afternoon saying:
“We must demand that the extreme wealthy pay their fair share. Period,”
Elon Musk who assumed the dig to be aimed at him replied sharply by taking a jibe at the 80-year-old senator.
The SpaceX CEO said:
“I keep forgetting that you’re still alive.”
The Tesla boss who recently sold $6.9 billion worth of his shares in the electric car company further replied- “Want me to sell more stock, Bernie? Just say the word.”
The shares sold however amounts to only 4% of the shares he holds directly and 3%, if options he owns to buy additional shares are included.
Last week, Elon Musk asked his Twitter followers if he should sell his shares in Tesla, and when 58% voted yes, he did.
At the moment, Musk is the wealthiest man in the world with an estimated net worth of $285 billion, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index.
