An original Apple computer that was built in 1976 has been sold off for $400,000 (N200 million) during an auction in the United States.
The device which was built by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs is reportedly one of the first-ever and one of 200 made in kit form.
The Apple-1 which is Hawaiian koa wood-cased had is still in working condition and had only 2 previous owners before this auction, according to BBC.
It was originally purchased by a college professor who then sold it to one of his students for $650 so that he could purchase the Apple-2 computer.
The computer auction also included its user manuals and Apple software on two cassette tapes.
Apple-1s which are the first set of computer manufactured by the company came as motherboards while cases, keyboards and monitors where sold separately.

They were sold for $666.66 when they launched. Although that might seem doomy, it’s only because Steve Wozniak liked repeating numbers.

The Apple computer fetched such a high price at auction because it represents the start of Apple and shows the ingenuity of Steve Jobs and Wozniak.
It was also made from koa wood, one of only 6 computer cases made from this material in the world.
Koa wood which was abundant at that time has become rarer and more expensive due to cattle grazing and wood logging.
