Apple CEO Tim Cook Owns Cryptocurrency

• The Apple CEO however stated that the interest from his personal point of view and ruled out suggestions that the company might accept it as payment

Apple CEO Tim Cook is the latest renowned world figure to show support for cryptocurrencies.

The tech company boss disclosed that he owns cryptocurrency while speaking at The New York Times DealBook conference.

Cook answered to Andrew Ross Sorkin in the interview that aired Tuesday:

“I do. I think it’s reasonable to own it as part of a diversified portfolio. I’m not giving anyone investment advice by the way.”

According to CNBC, Cook confirmed that he had been interested in cryptocurrencies for a while so he began researching them.

However, Cook revealed that his interest was from a personal point of view and ruled out suggestions that Apple might take cryptocurrency for payment.

Cook also shunned ideas of Apple buying the volatile digital assets with corporate funds as an investment like Tesla did earlier this year.

“I wouldn’t go invest in crypto, not because I wouldn’t invest my own money, but because I don’t think people buy Apple stock to get exposure to crypto,”.

At the moment, Apple doesn’t have any cryptocurrency products or services, it does however allow crypto wallets on its devices.

Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that while the company was looking at cryptocurrency technology, there was no immediate plan to implement it.
