Moroccan Boy Dies After Spending 4 Days Trapped in Well

• A 5-year-old Moroccan boy has died after being trapped 32 meters underground in a well for 4 days

• Following a lengthy rescue attempt that gripped the nation, he was confirmed dead on Saturday when rescuers reached him

• Rayan reportedly fell through a narrow opening of the well while playing in the village of Ighran on Tuesday evening

The body of a 5-year-old Moroccan boy trapped in a dry 32 meters well was recovered on Saturday after an unsuccessful rescue attempt that lasted 4 days.

Rayan Ora was brought out on a stretcher on Saturday through a cordon of Moroccan police as people gathered saying prayers for his survival.

However, minutes after the extraction, the royal palace released a statement to the media confirming the death of the child.

Moroccan King Mohammed VI also called to offer his condolences to the parents of the deceased.

Rayan fell into the well which his father was working on Tuesday afternoon and was only discovered after he was heard crying.

Rayan’s mother called authorities after discovering what had happened and rescue efforts which lasted more than half a week began.

Despite being sent food and water, the boy failed to survive the terrible incident.
