Manchester City survived a scare against Aston Villa on Sunday, to claim the premier league title for the 4th time in the past 5 seasons. The citizens claimed a 3-2 win at the Etihad to stop Liverpool from snatching the trophy.
The final day of the Premier League season started with Manchester City being one point ahead and having a +6 goal difference on Liverpool. Liverpool required a slip up from Guardiola’s men to have any chance of winning the title.
Things seemed to be going the way of Klopp’s men as Manchester City was 2 goals down against Villa, going into the final 16 minutes of the game. Then City staged a rousing comeback to win the game 3-2.
Substitute Ilkay Gundogan started the fight back with a 76th minute goal. Rodri then equalised four minutes later before Gundogan scored again to complete the comeback.

Meanwhile, at Anfield, Liverpool came from a goal down to grab a 3-1 win against Wolves. Despite playing their part, it was not enough as City ended the season as champions.
This is the second time that Manchester City has won back to back titles under Pep Guardiola. The only other teams to achieve this feat in the Premier League era are Manchester United and Chelsea.
