New Manchester United forward is Cristiano Ronaldo set to become the highest-paid football player in the 2021-2022 season, according to the latest rankings released by Forbes.

Forbes report revealed that the footballer star has overtaken rival Lionel Messi in earnings with take-home pay of $125m before taxes.
Of his total income for the new season, $70m comes in the form of salary and bonuses after completing a return to the English Premier League.
Asides from that, it is estimated that Ronaldo will earn $55m from commercial deals, the fourth-highest in the world of sport.
Only Roger Federer $90, LeBron James $65m, and Tiger Woods $60m will earn more in that period.
Former Barcelona star Lionel Messi follows with $110m total estimated earnings, after completing a move away from Barcelona do the first time in his career.
$75m of the new figure comes from salary and bonus earnings at his new club, Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi is joined by his PSG teammates Neymar and Mbappe who will earn $95m and $43m respectively during the season.
Liverpool’s forward Mohammed Salah completes the top five, with his expected earnings set at $41 million, making him the highest-earning African.
