COVID 19: Ronaldo Tests Positive

Former Brazilian footballer Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima has tested positive to COVID 19, Cruzeiro football club has announced.

The 45-year-old will now be forced to cancel his plans and appearance at the club’s 101st anniversary.

The football club which was acquired by the World Cup winner in December disclosed that the ex-striker will now undergo a period of isolation and rest.

According to Cruzeiro, Ronaldo has only displayed light symptoms of the virus, indicating that he is in no major danger.

During his career, Ronaldo was regarded as one of the most prolific goal scorers, leading Brazil to the 2002 World Cup win.

He was also in Brazil’s 1994 World Cup-winning squad, along with being voted FIFA World Player of the Year three times.

During his glittering career in Europe, the striker played for top clubs such as Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

Cruzeiro which has been suffering from financial burden was at the edge of bankruptcy when it was acquired by Ronaldo in December 2021.
