The strength of Bayern Munich’s team has taken a hit after news emerged that star fullback is suffering from heart inflammation.
Team manager Julian Nagelsmann confirmed that the Canadian footballer had been removed from training due to the complications, although he described it as “mild”.
According to the Athletic, Davies was undergoing routine medical checks after recovery from COVID when the issue was discovered.
Myocarditis, as it is known in the medical field, has been described as a potentially fatal ailment if left unmonitored.
Alphonso Davies will miss weeks of training and competitive football as the medical team continues to examine him and certify that he is safe to play.

In his match press conference, Naglesmann said:
“He has stopped training for now, so he won’t be available to us for the next weeks. During our follow-up examinations with players that have had COVID-19, we detected signs of mild myocarditis.”
Bayern Munich who currently leads in the Bundesliga face 6th placed FC Cologne on Saturday, as they like to maintain a 6-point gap at the top of the table.
