Lavu and Verifone Launch Crypto Payment for Restaurants in 65 Countries

  • Restaurant software provider Lavu has announced the launch of Crypto payment for restaurants in 65 countries globally.
  • The announcement comes after a partnership between Lavu, and Fintech Payment solution provider, Verifone.
  • Crypto payment options that will become available to Lavu customers include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and several USD stablecoins.

Lavu, a global restaurant software provider, has announced that it is collaborating with Verifone to bring cryptocurrency payment to 65 countries globally. Verifone, which has already enabled mobile payments in over 150 countries, will be integrated with Lavu’s PoS to allow customers’ pay restaurants in crypto.

Customers of select restaurants will now be able to choose from Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, Dogecoin, USDT, and USD for payment.

Users will first have to choose the desired amount to pay in crypto via the PoS, before proceeding to complete the transaction on their smartphone.

The mutual point of sale solution will offer a wider range of modern payment options, even beyond crypto. Thanks to the partnership between the two companies, you can also pay at restaurants using PayPal, Swish, Klarna, Vipps, and WeChat Pay.

Khatri also disclosed that there is a huge demand for cardless payment options. Apparently, people got used to contactless payment methods during the COVID 19 crisis. This has raised public interest in bitcoin and crypto payment solutions.
