World’s Oldest Man Turns 121 After Beating COVID

A Brazilian man Andrelino Vieira da Silva has celebrated what he claims to be his 121st birthday, making him the oldest man in the world.

da Silva who lives in the city of Aparecida de Goiania in the Brazilian state of Goias, celebrated his new age on February 3.

The grandfather and father of seven shared the intimate celebration in a small gathering with loved ones in a small plot of land that they share with him.

The gathering was limited as the entire family, including da Silva recovered from the effect of COVID 19.

Mr da Silva was born on February 3, 1901, according to his ID Card and he has 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Although his age has not yet been verified, if it is, it will make him the world’s oldest living person.

The great-great-grandfather celebrated the day with a cake decorated with his name, age, and the phrase- O terror do INSS which means “The terror of the INSS”.

INSS is the acronym for Brazil’s National Institute of Social Security, the body responsible for the payment of pension and survivor benefits.
