The United States has delivered another 2.5 million doses of the Pfizer COVID 19 vaccine to Nigeria, the embassy has announced.
This brings the total number of doses of vaccines delivered to Nigeria to 13.5 million since the start of the pandemic.
The United States Embassy in Nigeria confirmed the delivery on Thursday, December 9, 2021, in a disclosure seen on its website.
According to the statement, the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) received the vaccines and secured their storage.
The COVID 19 vaccines will now be distributed to over 3,000 health facilities across the 36 States in the country and FCT.

The vaccine donation is part of the United States’s plan to support developing countries. Earlier this year, it pledged one billion vaccine doses to be supplied to countries around the world by early 2022.
The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken pointed out this month that for the pandemic to come to an end, all countries must work together.
