The Federal Government has advised Nigerians to stop did regarding COVID 19 protocols.
This was revealed in a statement confirming the presence of the Indian strain of the virus in Nigeria.
The government urged Nigerians to prioritize their health by avoiding large gatherings and wearing face masks in all public places.
The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu stated this during his appearance on Arise TV.
Dr. Chikwe however stated that the AstraZeneca vaccine is just as efficacious against the Indian strain of COVID-19.

He revealed that the only challenge that the country had was getting as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible.
According to the NCDC boss, about 30,000 to 40,000 people are tested weekly and the country has a test positivity ratio of one percent.
The country has also recorded a reduced number of active cases, despite a recent decision to impose a curfew.
