
FG Calms Nigerians After Fear Of Fake COVID Vaccines From China
-The Federal Government has told Nigerians to remain calm after reports of fake COVID vaccines being sold in the country
-This report came after 3,000 doses of fake vaccines from China were intercepted on the way to Africa
-To prevent the entry of fake vaccines, the Customs Service has designated the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport as the only entry point for vaccines
The Federal Government has told Nigerians to remain calm after reports that there may be fake COVID vaccines in the country.

Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 recently released a report about the interception of 3,000 doses of fake vaccines that were bound for Africa from China.
The Federal Ministry of Health released a statement dispelling the sale of fake vaccines in the country.
The Customs Service has designated Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja as the only entry point for COVID vaccines to prevent the entry of counterfeits.

The Ministry also pointed out that the intercepted fake vaccines were headed to other African countries and not Nigeria because Nigeria doesn’t receive vaccines from China.

As of today, only 3.97 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been received in the country.
Nigeria received 3.94 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from WHO through the COVAX initiative.
An additional 300,000 vaccines were received from Telecommunications company, MTN.
