Nigeria to Receive 55 Million COVID 19 Vaccines By 2022

The federal government has revealed that it expects Nigeria to receive 55 million doses of COVID 19 vaccines in the coming year.
The Chairman Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha disclosed this to reporters on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mustapha who doubles as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation stated that the only way to defeat the virus is by vaccination.
The PSC boss declared that although global cases of the virus were down to 4 million weekly, a lot still had to be done to remain safe.
Mr. Mustapha also urged Nigerians to step up to receive the vaccine so that they can be granted vaccination cards to enable them to travel outside the country.
“To ease travels for fully vaccinated Nigerians, we are exploring the principles of reciprocity between Nigeria and other nations. For the time being, Nigerians are advised to always carry their vaccination the card details or barcode on their electronic devices for easy access especially for those traveling outside the country,”
Meanwhile, he also revealed that the expected vaccine delivery will include AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, and J&J vaccines.
So far, just over 8 million doses of vaccine have been delivered into the country, while more than 4 million people have received at least a shot of the vaccine.
