
Nigeria Receives 700,000 Doses of COVID 19 Vaccine From the UK

Nigeria has received 699,790 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from the United Kingdom to aid the country’s battle against the third wave of the pandemic.

The news was passed in a released statement by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency on Tuesday afternoon.
NHPDA’s statement also revealed that the vaccine will be administered to those who have received one shot of the AstraZeneca COVID 19 vaccine that was received earlier this year.

“Nigeria has taken delivery of 699,760 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the UK Government.
The vaccine will be deployed immediately to the States & administered as the second dose to those who had earlier received only the first dose of the AZ vaccine,” the agency said.”
The latest vaccines received is the third batch of vaccines that have been delivered to Nigeria in August.
Naija FM reported that 4 million doses of the Moderna COVID 19 vaccine were delivered to Nigeria from the United States at the start of the month.

Following that another 177,600 doses of the Janssen vaccine were delivered a few days ago.
The NPHCDA has begun administering the received vaccines from yesterday.
