MTN Gives Nigeria 300,000 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccines

-Nigeria has received 300,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from Telecom giant, MTN

-The news was passed by the country’s COVID-19 Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) Boss Mustapha

-Nigeria is expected to receive 1.4 million doses from the Telecom Company by the end of March 2021.

Telecommunications company, MTN has delivered 300,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to Nigeria.

This was revealed by The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID, Boss Musthapha during one of the weekly briefings.

The Chairman thanked the Telecom company and encouraged other private organizations to contribute to the fight against COVID.

An MTN official had earlier announced that the company was set to distribute 7 million doses of the vaccine to African countries.

Nigeria is expected to receive 1.4 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from the company by the end of March.

MTN gives Nigeria COVID vaccine

COVID vaccination in the country commenced earlier this month when 3.94 million doses of the vaccine were received at Abuja.

Although authorities in some Europeans countries have halted the use of the vaccine following rumors that the vaccine caused a fatal blood clot.

Nigeria maintains the use of the vaccine alongside many others.

The country is yet to record any fatal implications from the use of the vaccine and it has been received by many prominent figures already.
