COVID 19: Oman Bans Flights From Nigeria

  • Middle Eastern country Oman has banned international flights from Nigeria, according to their recent COVID 19 travel restrictions update
  • Apart from Nigeria, Oman also banned flights from 19 other countries including Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana and South Africa
  • The issued COVID travel restriction by the Omani government will take effect from 5 pm Friday, 9th of July

Middle Eastern country Oman has banned incoming flights from Nigeria and 19 other countries.

The ban was issued by the Omani government to prevent the spread of COVID 19 in the country.

This information was contained in a recent statement that was released by the Oman Government Communication Centre.

Asides from Nigeria, 8 other African countries (Tunisia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana, Guinea, Libya, South Africa, and Sierra Leone) were also banned by the middle eastern country.

Other countries that were added to the list are Iraq, Iran, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, India, and Pakistan.

The ban is set to take effect from Friday, 9th of July, 2021 by 5 pm and it will last until further notice from the government.

Citizens of Oman, their families and health staff are exempted from the ban but they will be subjected to a screening procedure that will be disclosed later.

The Supreme Committee of Oman also lifted a COVID 19 restriction that was placed on Egypt. This will allow incoming travellers from there into the country.
