
COVID 19: FG Announces Date for 2nd Phase of Vaccination

The federal government has announced that the second phase of COVID 19 vaccination will commence on August 16

The latest annoucement was passed by the Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib on Monday, after the postponement of the exercise that was earlier scheduled to start on Tuesday

While speaking with Channels TV, Dr Shuaibu stated that the suspension of vaccination was necessary to give NAFDAC time to complete the assessment of the vaccine
A date has been slated for the start of the phase two COVID 19 vaccination after it was earlier postponed.

The vaccination procedure is now set to start on the 16th of August, according to the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib.
Dr Shuaib announced the new date while speaking to Channels TV on Monday.
Dr Shuaib said that the postponement was necessary to give NAFDAC enough time to finish an assessment of the vaccine and preparatory process.
4 million doses of the Moderna COVID 19 vaccine that were received earlier this month will be used for the second phase of vaccination.

Meanwhile, FG has announced that an additional 176,000 doses of vaccine will be received in the country today.
Dr Faisal Shuaib said the expectations vaccines are Johnson and Johnson single doses, unlike the double dose vaccines the country has received in the past.

Also, another 700,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses are being expected, to complete vaccination for people who only received one dose.
