The disclosure was made during a briefing by the Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency
The Federal Government has given the go-ahead for the distribution of the second doses of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine.

Only Nigerians who received the first dose of the vaccine in March will be eligible for this batch.
The information was passed by Dr. Faisal Shuaib, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) Director.

Dr. Shuaib urged the health workers who had received the first dose of the vaccine to come back for this one, free of charge.
According to the NPHCDA, the period between the first and second doses of the vaccine (12 weeks) has been elapsed.
He stated that the earlier the country can put the pandemic behind us, the sooner everyone can go back to their regular lives.

It will be recalled that COVID vaccination began in Nigerian on March 5, 2020, after the country received 4 million doses of the vaccine.

Another 12 million doses of the vaccine will be received in Nigeria in the next few weeks.
