Needle-free COVID 19 Vaccine Tested in the UK

  • A new needle-free COVID 19 vaccine is being tested in the UK for use on people who have a phobia of needles
  • The vaccine reportedly uses a jet of air to push it through the skin rather than a needle piercing the skin
  • The technology also aims to predict how the virus can mutate and provide protection against future variants

A new COVID-19 vaccine that can be administered through the use of jet air rather than a needle is being trialed at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.

Researchers have disclosed that this vaccine could hold the key to protection against future variants of Coronavirus.

Clinical chief investigator and director of the NIHR Southampton Clinical Research Facility Saul Faust stated that, unlike other coronavirus vaccines, this one has current and future COVID 19 variants in sight.

“This technology could give wide-ranging protection to huge numbers of people worldwide.”

Most existing COVID 19 jabs were developed through the sequencing of the RNA for the spike protein from the first sample of the virus gotten in January 2020.

The technology of this vaccine however will try to predict how the virus will mutate and target the new variants.
