Argentina may be set to become the first big economy to adopt flagship cryptocurrency as its legal tender.
The President of the South American country, Alberto Fernandez featured in a show with journalist Julio Leiva and expressed positive thoughts about cryptocurrency.

Fernandez expressed willingness when questioned about the possibility of the country adopting Bitcoin as a legal tender.
The president claimed that frequent discussions about the world’s largest cryptocurrency have generated interest in Argentina.
He also expressed his belief that the use of cryptocurrency could address inflation problems that the country was faced with.

Despite strong positive thoughts, Fernandez also expressed scepticism about the use of the coin due to certain shortcomings.
The Presidents worry was majorly about the use of the digital currencies by scammers to perpetrate fraud and launder money.
“Everything is possible. Some say that the advantage of this is that the inflationary effect is nullified in a big way. It is also true that it will bring insecurity because some big scams have been verified to be done using cryptocurrencies. It is a difficult subject to touch.”
Argentina joins a long list of countries that have expressed interest in Bitcoin through its leaders.
