A study by the Public Health of England has disclosed that the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine has an efficacy of 90% for people who receive a second dose.
The study which was published in Bloomberg disclosed that 13,000 deaths of people above 60 years had been prevented through the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
According to the study, you only have a 1/10 chance of contracting the virus after taking the vaccine.
The Health Secretary of England, Matt Hancock has reiterated the importance of the vaccine in saving lives by preventing COVID-19.
The secretary urged everyone to receive the vaccine to become protected.
AstraZeneca Vaccine in Nigeria
It would be worth noting that Nigeria is one of the countries using the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine.
As of 20th May 2020, almost 1.9 million residents have been inoculated with the vaccine.
The Federal Government of Nigerian also recently approved the administration of the second dose of the vaccine.

The country is also expected to receive additional doses of the vaccine in the coming weeks through the COVAX initiative.
