The Nigerian movie industry is presently in calm as it mourns one of its very own ace actress, Moji Olaiya, who died in Canada. The news of the death of 42-year-old actress, came like a whirlwind, literally setting Nigerian social media community ablaze yesterday. Following her death, some actresses, including – Ronke Oshodi Oke, Doris Simeon, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe and others paid a condolence visit to the late actress’ Magodo-Isheri family house in Lagos State. Their visit revealed a very tense and sorrowful atmosphere with her colleagues and aged mum whom everyone around simply referred to as ‘Alhaja’, as they were all in tears and disbelief. Olaiya left behind her aged mother, her 2-month-old baby and a grown up 20-year-old daughter. Late Olaiya had just welcomed her baby girl in March 2017 before she died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Canada on Wednesday night. Reports say she died of cardiac arrest because the cause of death of the filmmaker who rose to limelight in Wale Adenuga’s SuperStory TV Series, may have been in connection with complications that arose from her child birth in March.

Recall that the ace actress’ death came barely one week after another popular Nollywood actor, Adeshina Adesanya, also known as Pastor Ajidara, gave up the ghost.
NAIJA.FM had earlier reported that while the news of her death made the rounds, her last post on Instagram before she died surfaced online.
“Hello fans, Okiki app is now on Apple App Store. Watch movies from me and other great actors for free. @okiki_app #okikiapp.” In another Instagram post, she wrote: “Alliamdulilahi to you Allah I give all the glory for all you have done. I will forever praise and worship you. It’s not by power but the Grace of Allah. Thank you for the gift of life. Thanks also to all my friends and family my fans for your supports and prayers.
