PayPal Extends Transfer Services to Ukraine to Support Donation Amid War

  • PayPal announced on Thursday that it will begin expanding its services to Ukrainian accounts, allowing them to send and receive money
  • With the latest development, Ukrainian account owners will also be able to transfer money from their accounts to debit or credit cards
  • The company also has plans to extend its services to Ukrainian refugees in other countries, so they can receive and withdraw money at their current location

Since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine, companies have been looking for ways to offer assistance to Ukrainians, and the latest is PayPal.

The money transfer giant announced on Thursday that it is expanding its services to allow users in different parts of the world to send money to Ukraine account holders.

Prior to this announcement, PayPal only supported transfer services from Ukrainian accounts to other countries. With the latest expansion, anyone with a Ukrainian PayPal account can send and receive money from friends and family all over the world.

Once money is received in a Ukrainian customers’ account, it can be transferred to any eligible Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card for withdrawal.

In addition to this, the company is waiving fees for customers sending funds to Ukrainian PayPal accounts till June 30. The expansion from the money transfer company comes after a request that was made by the Ukrainian government to allow people in the country receive payments.

PayPal also disclosed that it has plans to make it easier for Ukrainian refugees in other countries to receive money and withdraw from their current locations.
