Former United States President Donald Trump’s digital media platform has entered into agreements to raise $1 billion from investors.
Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. (TMTG) announced on Saturday that it has reached an agreement with two companies to fund the Truth Social media platform.
The deal which Reuters revealed earlier this week will provide proceeds of up to $1.25 billion to the social media platform.
Although the identity of the investors wasn’t revealed, it was disclosed that the deal will function as private investments in public equity.
While announcing the investment, Trump disclosed that it will put Truth Social in a better position to “fight against the Tyranny of Big Tech”.
“$1 billion sends an important message to Big Tech that censorship and political discrimination must end,”

The former president added that Truth Social will serve as the platform that doesn’t discriminate based on political ideology.
TMTG disclosed in October this year that this social media platform will launch in 2022 after the completion of beta trials.
